Working principle

Thanks to the largest natural magnet available nearby, planet Earth itself, magnetic fields are everywhere around us. RedFox nodes use those magnetic fields, and in particular, its variations in time. These tiny changes in magnetic fields, also called Magnetic Flux Leakage (MFL), can be correlated to crack initiation and growth. Our patented technology enables our sensors to operate on a low-power basis, such that measuring magnetic variations can be performed for at least five years without battery replacement.
